Centralisation of services for the management of ovarian cancer: arguments for.Olaitan A, McCormack M Department of Gynaecological Oncology, The Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital, University College London Hospital, London, UK. adeola.olaitan@uclh.org The recommendation in 1999, by the National Health Service Executive (NHSE) that the management of gynaecological cancer be centralised, led to a reorganisation of services for women with gynaecological malignancies. Debate has continued about the feasibility and benefits of ovarian cancer centralisation particularly because its insidious presentation can make it difficult to identify women with ovarian cancer before surgery.
